First Cowboy Camp
Went on my first cowboy camp. I did not even plan to do it but the weather was so nice I decided not to put up my tarp and instead sleep under the stars. It was great.
The trip was a very quick one. I arrived by car close to my camp site as the sun was setting. Went directly to camp and went to bed. (I wild camped at a spot I have been to before. As I arrived late I wanted a location I already knew.)
In the morning I woke up early, made coffee, and sat in the forest enjoying nature. What a calm, wonderful experience.
My sleep wasn’t the greatest through. I think this is to be expected trying out something new. I wasn’t able to completely relax and I dreamt about animals/humans coming to my camp and disturbing me. Nothing like that happened of course. It reminds me of the first few times I slept in a tent alone. Or under a tarp alone. This is just the next iteration of that progression. I do it a few times and before I know it it’ll just be normal to me.

Gear
- Carried a somewhat light setup with tarp as shelter. No food. I only stayed overnight so didn’t need much.
Notes
- Really enjoyed having a lighter bag with less stuff. Made it easier to pack and find stuff.
- A simple camping setup is great (especially when the weather is nice). Super simple to set up and take down.
- Lately I have had good success challenging myself/enjoying small trips here in Denmark. I still long for the mountains and can’t wait to go. But in the meantime this is nice.
