Tresticklan National Park

Duration: 4 day | Distance: N/A | Apr 06 2026

Camped 4 nights in different parts of Tresticklan National Park, Sweden.

This was a wild camp adventure. The park largely consists of untouched forests with only a few trails. I walked off the trail almost as soon as I could and spent my time wandering and camping in the wild. Absolutely amazing.

I had cold mornings with sleet and I had sunshine. I camped by still lakes and simply enjoyed being outside.

Gear

  • A new big backpack from Savotta. (Kantamus 60l + Hatka 12l)
  • A new tent from Nortent (Varde 1)
  • Both new items held up extremely well and I enjoyed using them
  • Overall my setup was geared towards camping. So a very heavy backpack

Notes

  • It was super fun but also super hard to walk around in the wild with no marked trails to follow.
  • I covered way less ground than expected. So there is plenty of the park I have not seen.
  • The park has two toilets. One at the west entrance by a Norwegian DNT hut, and one at the east entrance where I parked my rental car. I enjoy being out in nature for days but when there is a toilet close by I’ll use that.
  • The mountains in Norway and Sweden are still covered by snow. But a park like this one is not so it is a great place to go early in the season.
